Introduced during ITU Telecom World trade show in Hong Kong this week, Samsung i718 runs on the latest mobile OS from Microsoft - Windows Mobile 5.0 and has a lot of cool features.

Samsung stayed true to it’s “slim” cellphone design philosophy and made this cellphone PDA only 13.5 mm thick (108 mm long and 58 mm wide) . Samsung SGH i718 is a Quad band GSM/GPRS/Edge phone with big and bright 2.8″ QVGA 65k color screen, 2 megapixel camera, 64 MB of RAM, 128 MB ROM and microSD memory card slot.
One of the interesting software applications included with Samsung i718 PDA phone is a business card recognition feature. You can take a picture of a business card with 2 megapixel camera, and your cellphone will automagically recognize the information on it and store the contact phone, e-mail and other data in your contact manager.
And of course it can play most of the popular media file formats, has a PowerAmp, Bluetooth 2.0, handsfree speaker, Office apps and lots of other cool things that most of Samsung’s business phones carry. So if this FCC approval means anything, it looks like a great option to replace your old PDA next year.
